Article Marketing – 30 Day Experiment: Day four Update

I’ve been writing furiously and have pumped out 44 articles in the last four days, which I’m quite happy with. The lengths are all between 250-500 words, which I’ve been told is ideal, but I’ll probably start writing some longer ones for testing purposes. I ran into one annoying snag though. EZineArticles only allows new authors to publish a maximum of 10 articles initially, which must then be approved before they lift the limit and let the author right more. No sweat right? You’d think. Apparently though it can take up to 15 days for EZineArticles to go through the review process and approve articles! That just won’t do for now! I only have 30 days to get this done! What’s a soon-to-be article marketing billionaire to do?

Luckily for me, there was another blogger doing the exact same thing I am right now! I found his blog at the digital point forums, and you can read his journey as well at www.RossBeckham.com. What Ross opted to do was sign up for a premium account at EZineArticles, which brings the editorial review time way down. Ross has even had articles approved as quickly as a few hours after submission. Sounds great, but it’s almost $100 a month to sign up for such an account! Yikes. I might not even make that much over the course of the entire experiment! But, what fun is experimentation without a little risk? I decided to take the plunge and sign up. The results were pretty noticeable. My first 10 articles were Read the full story

Article Market Experiment – Day One – The Basics

It’s time to get started with this thirty day article marketing experiment and see if we can’t get the ball rolling. In this post I’ll introduce the exact tactics I plan to use to make my billions, and I’ll go through some of the other options that you can take should you want to try this with your own twist.

Alright so right off the bat, I’ve already lied to you. This is not, in fact day one. I started this yesterday, but starting with “day two” in the title will make people go “hey, buddy, what the hell? Where’s day one?”.  To confuse it even more, I’m writing this from Australia, which is a day in the future from my home in Toronto, so when I return home, what day will it be? Now I know how Marty McFly felt when he went back in time and his mom hit on him. Sort of.

Alright so on to the nitty gritty of this challenge. Time to answer your questions on just what exactly it is I’m doing!

1) How will you make da monies?
For the purposes of my experiment, I’ve decided to use affiliate products to generate my fortune. I’m also testing two different methods within that. First, I’ve gone to ClickBank (a huge affiliate product market place), and chosen four products that I will promote in four different niches. I’m staying away from get rich quick products because they’re almost all scams or rip offs and I would feel awful selling such things to people.
Secondly, I chose an affiliate product that is Read the full story

Article Marketing (AKA Bum Marketing) – 30 Day Experiment

Anyone who knows me, or reads this blog, knows that I’m absolutely fascinated by the different methods people use to make income on the internet, particularly methods that generate passive income, the most wonderful kind of income on the face of the earth! Well one such method that I’ve read about for a long time but never really tried dipping my toe into is article marketing.

Article marketing (also called “bum marketing” by some because it’s supposedly so easy you could take a bum off the street and have him earning in no time) is essentially the practice of writing articles (lots of them), which you then promote in any manner of ways in order to drive traffic to your revenue source, whether it be your own product, an affiliate link, or a page full of adsense.

Since I’m all about testing out the different internet marketing tactics I read so much on, I figured why not give article marketing a go. And so, in the most un-original form possible, I’m setting sail on a 30 day trial where I’ll attempt to make money through article marketing, and document the process on my blog.

I’ve read numerous such accounts on message boards and other people’s blogs, all with differing levels of success. Some people say article marketing is the greatest thing on earth and make some pretty decent coin from it (coin which continues to come in passively well after the work is done). Others claim that article marketing is the devil and that all it does is suck up all of your precious time without giving back so much as an adsense click. As with most things, the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, and determined by a great deal of factors, like the speed with which the marketers can put out articles and the quality of their writing.

I fancy myself a pretty decent writer, and I tend to be able to write fairly quickly, so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to pump out a good number of good quality articles without having to give up sleeping (apparently quantity is very important).

Will I strike it rich with ease, or will I burn my eyes out sitting at the keyboard all for a few cents? Tune into this blog, same bat time, same bat channel, to find out. On one hand, if I succeed, you might learn a thing or two that will help you in your own earnings. On the other hand, you might get a good laugh at the expense of my humiliating failure! Is there anything more fun than that?
