Article Marketing – 30 Day Experiment: Day four Update

I’ve been writing furiously and have pumped out 44 articles in the last four days, which I’m quite happy with. The lengths are all between 250-500 words, which I’ve been told is ideal, but I’ll probably start writing some longer ones for testing purposes. I ran into one annoying snag though. EZineArticles only allows new authors to publish a maximum of 10 articles initially, which must then be approved before they lift the limit and let the author right more. No sweat right? You’d think. Apparently though it can take up to 15 days for EZineArticles to go through the review process and approve articles! That just won’t do for now! I only have 30 days to get this done! What’s a soon-to-be article marketing billionaire to do?

Luckily for me, there was another blogger doing the exact same thing I am right now! I found his blog at the digital point forums, and you can read his journey as well at www.RossBeckham.com. What Ross opted to do was sign up for a premium account at EZineArticles, which brings the editorial review time way down. Ross has even had articles approved as quickly as a few hours after submission. Sounds great, but it’s almost $100 a month to sign up for such an account! Yikes. I might not even make that much over the course of the entire experiment! But, what fun is experimentation without a little risk? I decided to take the plunge and sign up. The results were pretty noticeable. My first 10 articles were Read the full story

Passive Income Case Study – Upcoming Movie Websites

This case study will focus on a simple way that I was able to generate a few hundred extra dollars a month passively with almost no work involved and a tiny initial investment. This case demonstrates the opportunity to find unoptimized web properties and develop and expand them to increase earnings.

This little venture started in the “for sale” section of an online forum for webmasters (specifically, www.namepros.com). I always try to browse through sites like these (a list of similar sites is available at the bottom of this post) to see if there are any good websites or domain names for sale at an undervalued price. In this case I stumbled upon a website that was up for sale, the topic of which was an upcoming movie installment of a very popular movie series. I’d had no idea that this movie was in the works to be made, and neither did the majority of movie fans, but enough people did that the site was getting steady traffic, about 8,000 unique visitors per month. The site was also earning around $70 US per month through Google Adsense. I looked into the movie and noticed that as of IMDB.com’s info, it was scheduled to be put out in 2009, but it had already been pushed back twice. This was good, since the further away the film was, the longer the site’s lifespan would be (sites like these tend to die out not long after the movie is released). More importantly though, I noticed two very attractive factors. First, the site was currently made up of only a single image, a few lines of text, and a single Adsense block. Secondly, the site ranked very well in Google when the title of the movie was searched on, and the image the site used was indexed highly in Google images for the same search terms. This mean opportunity. I purchased the site for Read the full story
